Freedom Programme

Information about the Freedom Programme delivered by Hurdle

The Freedom Programme is created by Pat Craven and aims to help people learn about domestic violence and abuse.

If you have suffered or are suffering from abuse in a relationship, this programme will help you to know that you are not alone.

The Freedom Programme will help you to understand what has happened to you, and how you can keep yourself safe now and in the future.

It explains in detail how children are affected by domestic abuse and very importantly, how children’s lives can be improved if the abuse is removed.

Our trained facilitators lead the group programme for Hurdle parents. There are 12 sessions in total, which is currently being offered virtually each week.

The programme is suitable for women as victims of domestic abuse, and also men; whether you are wishing to change your attitudes and behaviours or are victim of same sex abuse yourself. We run separate groups for women and men.

For those attending the programme, you will be sent an information pack before the group starts. This gives you all the information you need to know about what to expect from the group, and what will be covered.

You do not need to talk about your own personal experiences within the group if you do not want to. The Freedom Programme is there to help by providing information so you can learn from your experiences and help you to keep yourself safe.

If you are interested in attending the Freedom Programme or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Hurdle.
