The launch of Hurdle was inspired by Paul Tudor, retired Executive Chair of the Board of Directors for Dudley Lodge.
Paul has over 50 years’ experience of child protection social work in England and made an invaluable contribution to the protection and safeguarding of children. He was an NSPCC Inspector and an Independent Safeguarding Advisor for serious case reviews within child protection, in addition to having over 36 years involvement with Dudley Lodge safeguarding children services.
Paul felt passionately about breaking the cycle of removals into care and encouraged the expansion of Dudley Lodge’s community and outreach services to help prevent and reduce this.
He was genuinely moved by the success of our initial community support project, through which parents who received our support in the community went on to have subsequent children where the Local Authority did not need to intervene.
As a thank you to Paul for his outstanding contribution to Dudley Lodge over his 36 years’ service and in recognition of his passion to reduce the number of children entering the care system, Hurdle was developed to continue his legacy.
